Horizon Europe supports Collaborative Projects between companies, universities, and other partners, who come together in project proposals addressing grand societal challenges or strategic industrial technologies.
The Collaborative Projects are by far the largest programme area within Horizon Europe, with a total budget of more than 50 billion Euros in 2021-2027.
Commercial opportunities: Collaborative Projects allow companies to develop and commercialize their new products and services together with European partners. Also, they allow companies to link up with leading knowledge networks in their industries. In funded Collaborative Projects, participating companies typically obtain 70% support for their project costs.
Type of activities: R&D, Demonstration, Market Uptake
Requirements: Typically, Collaborative Projects require participation from at least three partners from different EU or associated countries. Most supported projects have 5-8 partners, and a budget of 2-10 million Euros. Support for Collaborative Projects is offered within predefined themes that are published by the EU Commission on a running basis. An exact match with a theme is a prerequisite for obtaining funding.
