Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund // Danmarks Eksport og Investeringsfond
Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (Danmarks Eksport og Investeringsfond) is a merger of the Danish Growth Fund (Vækstfonden), the Danish Green Investment Fund (Danmarks Grønne Investeringsfond), and EKF Denmark’s Export Credit Agency (EKF). Launched in January 2023, the centralisation of these three state loan organs is based on easing access to state financed risk capital through one single point of contact, whether you are an entrepreneur, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME), or a larger export company. Central to the financing strategy is sustaining and accelerating sustainable growth and green transition in Danish society.
Commercial Opportunities
The Fund actively collaborates with various other parties to ensure the financial viability of projects, such as banks and business angels, and financing can be granted in the form of guarantees, loans, or equity. Aside from providing capital to companies located in Denmark, financing options include financing for foreign buyers and insuring foreign transactions.
Funding
- Export credit: Enables Danish companies to offer foreign customers credit for purchased goods through a loan guaranteed by EIFO, either partially or entirely.
- Insurance solutions: Protection against risks related to international transactions, e.g., due to financial or political uncertainties.
- Capital for Danish companies: EIFO offers loans or guarantees to support growth and development in companies at different stages, from early start-ups to mature enterprises. Innovative companies with high scalability potential can obtain equity investments typically in the order of 5 to 200 million DKK from EIFO or the business angels and funds they work with.
