Innobooster
Innobooster offers support for SMEs and promising start-up companies to realise innovative projects through development and market maturation.
The Innobooster programme is organised by Innovation Fund Denmark (Innovationsfonden), which overall aims to support the translation of innovative ideas into new solutions that contribute to development of knowledge and technology, including advanced technology, and in turn strengthen research and innovative solutions that may benefit Danish growth and employment.
Commercial Opportunities
Innobooster offers opportunities for Danish SMEs wishing to develop and mature new products or services to improve a process that increases the company’s competitiveness and creates growth in Denmark.
Funding Available
Innobooster funds projects with grants between 50k and 5 million DKK and a project duration of maximum 2 years. A subsidy rate of 35% of eligible cost applies, with the opportunity to obtain a higher effective subsidy rate for projects applying for grants of up to 1.5 million DKK.
Requirements
Projects may fall under one of the following three themes:
- Green technology and innovation
- Life science, health and welfare technology
- Digitalisation, technology, and innovation
For a given project idea submitted to the Innobooster programme, applications need to demonstrate:
- Novelty: The project contains new development activities and expected project results are distinctly different from what is on the market today.
- Value Creation and Business Potential: The company must render it probable that it can gain a significant competitive advantage and in the long-term profit from the solution.
- Implementation: The project activities, risks, concrete project outcome and plans for exploitation of results must be clear and aligned with the company’s capacities.
- Financial Efficiency: The project must be budgeted realistically according to the planned activities and expenses, and the desired grant should reflect the expected business gain as well as project risk.
Furthermore, it is a requirement that the applying SME has attracted minimum 100k DKK in external capital in the 3 years preceding the application, or that the applying SME can present a gross profit of minimum 250k DKK published in one of the 3 preceding years’ fiscal report.
