Environmental Technology Development and Demonstration // MUDP

EN
DA

The Danish Ministry of Environment (Miljøministerietaims to support Danish political priorities related to sustainability, environment, and health, while simultaneously create growth and new employment opportunities in Danish enterprises. This is done by offering relevant projects funding through MUDP, short for Miljøteknologisk Udviklings- og Demonstrationsprogram which translates into the programme for Environmental Technology Development and Demonstration or also called the Danish Eco-Innovation Programme. Projects that can deliver real environmental improvements, while at the same time strengthen Danish enterprises’ green competitive capabilities, can apply for MUDP funding.

MUDP is an ideal programme for commercially driven and environmentally related project ideas, where private enterprises are participating. The programme offers support for projects within broad themes, like climate adaptation; optimising resource use; minimising waste streams; sustainable construction; clean air; reduced noise; and chemicals.

Funding applications can target development; test and demonstration of eco-efficient technology; and demonstration.

Commercial Opportunities

MUDP offers opportunities for enterprises to develop new and green technologies and solutions, which can be sold both on home markets as well as the global market and which will enable the enterprises in question as well as other enterprises to live up to environmental duties.

Funding Available

The grant funding percentage offered by the MUDP programme depends on the type of participant and type of activity. Typically, the percentage applied for enterprise participants with development and demonstration activities is around 50%.

Requirements

Private and public enterprises as well as other entities can apply for MUDP funding, either individually or in consortia. When assessing an application, significant emphasis is placed on whether the project:

  • Contributes to the green transition and a better environment.
  • Contributes to giving Danish businesses better possibilities for the creation of competitive environmental technology.
  • Has value as a new technology.
  • Holds an incentive effect for the applicant, i.e., enables a project that would not otherwise be possible or would have been limited in regard to scope, timing, etc.
