Soraia Mendes

BSc in Genetics and Biotechnology and MSc in Technologic, Comparative, and Molecular Genetics, both from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD, Vila Real-Portugal). Sparked by her interest in immunology, Soraia conducted her master’s thesis at IBMC. She thereafter pursued her PhD at IBMB-CSIC, focusing on the biochemical and structural characterisation of proteases and protease-inhibitors of biomedical interest. Last year, Soraia changed her career path and enrolled in a MSc programme on Health and Science Management at Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB), during which she is conducting an internship as Innovation Consultant at Innovayt.
