Rui Silva
As a Senior Consultant, Rui supports clients in developing competitive proposals for scientific research, technological development, and demonstration projects. His expertise spans across a wide range of EU funding schemes, including Horizon Europe MSCA (Doctoral Networks, Postdoctoral Fellowships), Research and Innovation Actions (RIAs), EIC Pathfinder and Accelerator, the European Defence Fund, EUREKA programmes, and the EU Innovation Fund (regular grants and H2 auctions). Rui also works with Danish national programs such as EUDP, GUDP, and Grand Solutions. In addition, he co-manages Innovayt’s EU Innovation Fund programme, contributing to the company’s business development in this area.
Rui holds a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering, an MSc in Bioengineering and BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Minho (Portugal). Prior to joining Innovayt, he served as Associate Director of the Molecular Biotechnology Laboratory at the Centre of Biological Engineering, in University of Minho (Portugal), and worked for several years as an R&D Scientist. His research focused on developing microbial cell factories using metabolic and genetic engineering for the fermentation-based production of high-value chemicals. He is the author of 8 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has delivered numerous oral and written communications. Rui has also been directly involved in securing funding for multiple research initiatives.
