Rita Santos
As an Innovation Consultant, Rita supports clients in preparing and developing competitive proposals for various EU and national funding mechanisms. Her experience includes working with Horizon Europe programmes such as MSCA Doctoral Networks, ERA Chairs, and Chips JU, as well as Danish and Norwegian programmes like Innobooster and IPN. Rita has contributed to projects across a range of fields, including biochemistry, cancer, radiopharmaceuticals, psychotherapy, digital twins, and smart grid technologies.
Rita holds a double PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Ghent University (Belgium) and in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of Porto (Portugal). She also completed a visiting PhD stay at Stockholm University (Sweden). Prior to joining Innovayt, Rita was a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (Portugal) for 5 years, where she specialized in nanomedicine applied to bacterial infections. During this time, she gained valuable experience in both the preparation and management of R&D projects.
