Ângela Abreu
As a Senior Consultant, Ângela brings over nine years of extensive experience in securing funding from various international programs such as H2020 (SME instrument, EIC pilot, FTI), Horizon Europe (EIC Pathfinder, Transition, Accelerator, Research & Innovation Actions, ERC, MSCA), THCS, and Eurostars. She has also successfully navigated national funding initiatives in Norway (IPN, SFF, FRIPRO, ENOVA) and Denmark (EUDP, Innobooster, Grand Solutions). Throughout her tenure, Ângela has contributed significantly to various R&D and innovation projects, fostering industry-academia collaborations, shaping high-impact and high-risk proposals, and co-managing Innovayt’s Eurostars program.
Ângela holds a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering, specializing in environmental biotechnology and biohydrogen production, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Technology, both from the University of Minho (Portugal). With over 12 years of academic research experience, including four years as a Post-Doctoral researcher, she has actively engaged in bioenergy production and waste valorization projects, publishing more than 15 scientific papers, co-authoring two book chapters, and presenting extensively at international conferences. Additionally, Ângela served as Assistant Professor at the University of Minho (Portugal), teaching Master’s level courses in Biological Engineering and Environmental Management. Her professional background also includes four years in industry consultancy, working with SMEs in environmental and industrial contexts. She further enhanced her business skills by completing an Intensive Management Programme at Católica Porto Business School (Portugal).
