Innovayt collaborates with Aleap on events for health start-ups

Last week was a busy week collaborating with Aleap on different events for health start-ups at Oslo Science Park. Aleap is the largest incubator for health start-ups in the Nordics, facilitating innovation by developing an ecosystem that allows ambitious companies and entrepreneurs to create new products better and faster. For the third time, Aleap arranged the Aleap Bootcamp together with Inven2 and UiO Growth House, where Innovayt participated in the jury and contributed to the prize. Last week, Innovayt also held a presentation on European and Norwegian soft funding opportunities for Aleap community members.

Aleap Bootcamp

The Aleap Bootcamp is a recurrent programme that introduces early-stage health start-ups to relevant themes and topics within innovation and commercialisation, ranging from design thinking and regulatory strategies to market insights and pitching skills. This year, 12 companies received training over a two-month span leading up to the five-day bootcamp. The bootcamp culminated in a pitching competition where the participants impressively demonstrated the learnings from the previous two months. The winner with the best commercial idea was the AntiFENT team composed by Nora Digranes and Lars Ia Cour Poulsen from NMBU and Ard Innovation, receiving 30k NOK as the main prize which was co-sponsored by Inven2 and UiO Growth House. Innovayt also contributed to the prize with arranging a funding strategy workshop for the winner and selected ideas.

Congratulations to the AntiFENT team, kudos to all contestants and participants, and thanks to the organisers for a great collaboration and event.

Funding presentation

During the presentation on European and Norwegian soft funding opportunities, Innovayt went into detail on the EIC Accelerator, Eurostars, and IPN programmes. Rui Sousa, Senior Consultant at Innovayt, highlighted the difference between especially the Eurostars and IPN programmes, guiding the Aleap community members towards relevant funding opportunities. One important take-away was to start applying already now, in order to prepare a competitive application for the upcoming deadlines:

  • EIC Accelerator: 3 October 2024
  • Eurostars: 12 September 2024
  • IPN: ongoing but opens for submissions in August 2024

Thanks again to Aleap and the participating Aleap community members.
