Margarida Santos
Margarida, as an Innovation Consultant,contributes to the development of competitive grant proposals for European funding programmes. She advises on project design, helps shape compelling scientific narratives, and supports teams in translating research excellence into clear impact plans, bringing a researcher’s rigour to proposal strategy and execution.
She holds a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from University of Porto (Portugal) and a BSc and MSc in Biochemistry from University of Aveiro (Portugal), with more than 10 years of academic research experience. Her early work investigated alterations in glycosylation in bladder cancer and later in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and she subsequently transitioned to fundamental biology using Drosophila melanogaster to study how cell–cell and cell–matrix adhesion affect the efficiency of cell division.
