Luís Machado
As an Innovation Consultant, Luís brings a strong scientific background in genetics, biogeography, biodiversity monitoring, and data analysis. He has over 15 years of experience in the Research & Development sector, with a particular focus on biodiversity-related challenges across multiple countries and continents, including Europe, Africa, and Asia. Throughout his career, Luís has contributed to interdisciplinary research projects, combining advanced analytical approaches with applied biodiversity and environmental monitoring.
Luís holds a Ph.D. in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution from the University of Porto (Portugal). His academic and research career includes positions at leading research institutions such as CIBIO-InBIO (University of Porto), IBE-UPF (Barcelona, Spain), and CBMA (University of Minho, Portugal). He has co-authored eight peer-reviewed scientific publications, including the description of a new reptile species as first author, highlighting his expertise in evolutionary biology and species conservation.
