The Swedish collaboration between Timars Svets & Smide AB and EMTW Production AB has resulted in a revolutionizing all-terrain vehicle that can climb fences as well as moving effortlessly in steep and sloping terrain, thanks to a new hydraulic technology. The EMTW-vehicle is expected to replace the work of 10 ordinary road and railway maintenance vehicles. It will also be able to reach sites at a normal traffic speed, which will, especially on highways, reduce both queues and time for maintenance work.
The Swedish government innovation agency Vinnova is funding the project in their SME Instrument Phase 1. Innovayt has assisted EMTW in developing and writing the proposal.
