The project AquaFarmControl will be supported under the EU's Seventh Framework Programme for Research and will receive a grant of around 1.8 million euros. The team behind the project will develop and demonstrate an innovative system to enable precision livestock farming in marine aquaculture and to effectively eliminate the mounting and critical problem of escapes from fish pens. The system will be based on a multi-purpose capsule implanted in fish, in combination of both SONAR transmitter and GSM surveillance technologies.
Innovayt was engaged by the coordinator, Seafood Security, to identify the most suitable funding opportunities, to establish the consortium and to develop and write the proposal.
