Innovayt has successfully assisted an international consortium - including the Danish SME Tisturion, HandyWear, and Aarhus Engineering School (IHA) - with an EU application for the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) programme. The e-Stocking project involves 10 Partners from 4 countries (DK, FI, UK and CH) and targets the development of a new generation of smart ICT-enabled compression stocking solutions to help elderly people with leg venous problems. The key features of the novel e-stockings are user-friendly application and operation, compliance with individual clinical needs, enhanced mobility to the patients, and appealing design. The innovative ICT-based concept relies on electronic sensors, actuators and supporting computational elements embedded in e-textiles with wireless connectivity.
Frants Christensen from Tisturion is very pleased with the end result and concludes, “It would not have been possible for us to get this result without the help from Innovayt. The process towards this has been very positive”.
The AAL programme will provide funding of around 1.2 million Euro to the consortium. For further information, contact Pedro Guimarães.
