The results from the first 2014 calls of the main European research funding programmes dedicated to SMEs – the Eurostars programme and the dedicated SME instrument under Horizon 2020 – were very encouraging and successful for Innovayt and our clients.
The Eurostars programme, which is aimed at SMEs with own research capabilities, selected 11 projects with Danish SME partners, 5 of which worked with Innovayt on their innovation ideas and proposals.
The new and dedicated SME instrument under Horizon 2020 – which is often called the European SME Champions League – received more than 2600 proposals for the first call in June and only funded 155 of these projects. Only 4 of these projects were submitted by Danish SMEs – and 2 of these 4 received help and coaching in the process from Innovayt’s experts.
The 7 promising and highly capable Danish SMEs are developing innovative technologies and services for localization and asset management; advanced lighting solutions for better indoor ergonomics; point-of-care diagnosis of infectious disease; environmentally friendly food packaging; advanced building materials with optical fibers and, finally, green and light construction materials for marine vessels.
Stay tuned to our home page over the coming weeks, where we will post news on the individual projects and share the promoters’ experiences with the application processes.
