Innovayt appoints Débora Ferreira as partner

Innovayt is beyond excited to appoint Débora Ferreira as one among four new partners with effect from 1 July 2021. After graduating in Biomedical Engineering, Débora completed a PhD in Bioengineering Systems with specialisation in biomedical devices and photonics at the University of Minho (Portugal), as part of the MIT-Portugal Programme. Débora explains: “It was when conducting research at MIT, a unique and creative place with outstanding entrepreneurial ecosystem, that I became a practical problem-solver and grew an interest in turning concepts into reality while focusing on impact. This was part of my motivation to join Innovayt in 2011, directly after my PhD”.

Since joining Innovayt, Débora has been responsible for developing innovation project proposals within several domains and across different European funding instruments. She has also been an active mentor to many colleagues, which she describes as one of her favourite roles. For the past two years, Débora has been responsible for managing the Innovation and Enterprise-related programmes, namely the EIC-Accelerator. As of this July, Débora takes on a new position as Partner and Director of Enterprise Services at Innovayt.

I am both thrilled and honoured to have been invited to become partner, and I am humbled to have been entrusted with this opportunity. As Director of Enterprise Services, I hope to take a more active role in the strategic growth of the company by further developing and diversifying our consultancy services and models, while also inspiring and motivating our incredible team as well as contributing to the team’s development with training activities and workshops.

In more detail, Débora will provide leadership and strategic direction for the management and delivery of consultancy activities directed to companies, which range from start-ups to large enterprises. She adds: “My goal is to ensure Innovayt’s commitment to high-quality enterprise services. This involves developing, nurturing and leading new tools, processes and models such that we are best able to respond to our clients’ needs. Not only by guiding our clients towards the most suitable funding instruments, but also by understanding their pain points as well as helping them develop their complex project ideas and reinventing their business”.
