Kvantify x Innovayt // Eureka Quantum

Paving the way for a quantum-driven future

Kvantify is committed to tackling the world’s most challenging computational problems by harnessing the combined power of quantum computing, high-performance computing, and machine learning. As a quantum software company with a strong focus on quantum chemistry and physics-based modelling, Kvantify has proven its ability to innovate on hybrid quantum-classical algorithms. Hence, Kvantify is pushing the boundaries of what is possible in computational science.

Together with Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC), Kvantify founded the CoaxChem consortium that aims to translate quantum advancements into real-word applications, focusing on battery chemistry. OQC is a globally recognised Quantum Compute-as-a-Service (QCaaS) provider, known for delivering powerful superconducting quantum computers (QCs). Notably, OQC was the first company to offer a commercial QC in the UK and the first worldwide to install a QC in a colocation data centre, fully integrated with high-performance computing. This strategic partnership combines Kvantify’s deep expertise in quantum software with OQC’s cutting-edge hardware capabilities. In short, CoaxChem is a top-tier Danish-British consortium established to co-develop novel quantum solutions for quantum chemistry.

The consortium will work to co-optimize hardware topology and quantum algorithms to achieve the best possible system performance for quantum chemistry calculations. To benchmark the performance of this system, the consortium will address complex challenges such as battery oxidation and electrolyte degradation. By targeting these real-world issues, CoaxChem aims to unlock more cost-efficient and reliable battery components, ultimately improving R&D and manufacturing processes for novel batteries. In doing so, it directly strengthens Europe’s strategic position in the energy sector and strengthens its position in the global race for quantum-enabled, sustainable, and efficient energy solutions.

EU Funding

In collaboration with Innovayt, the CoaxChem consortium recently secured just above €680k in Eureka Quantum soft funding, providing crucial support to develop cutting-edge solutions for quantum chemistry as well as underscoring global confidence in transformative technology. The Eureka Quantum funding call supports R&D projects that develop quantum technologies outperforming existing classical solutions to address industry, science, and societal challenges. Eureka’s support validates CoaxChem’s promise to drive forward a more sustainable and efficient future for battery manufacturing and potentially many other sectors.

Kvantify is a recurring Innovayt client, having previously secured €2.5M in grant funding through the EIC Accelerator programme. This earlier success already underscored Kvantify’s position as a leader in quantum technology innovation.

“I am impressed by Innovayt’s level of expertise and professionalism. They expertly guided the process of identifying and detailing the most viable proposition for our consortium, and everyone on the team was a pleasure to work with. Their combined strategic insight was invaluable in preparing and winning the bid. They are a pleasure to work with, and there is a reason we keep coming back.”

– Nikolaj Zinner, Co-founder and CSO at Kvantify
